Cosy Nights Await: A Stunning Sunken Firepit
Modern Landscape Creations recently wrapped up an award winning full renovation, turning the outdoor space into a breathtaking retreat that blends seamless style with practical use. Our aim was to craft an inviting and cohesive environment that enhances the entire property, making it ideal for year-round enjoyment and gatherings.
Here’s a look at the key features of this impressive renovation:
- A sunken firepit was constructed, featuring floating stairs that provide a dramatic entry to the area. The firepit, surrounded by composite decking boards, includes built-in bench seating and LED strip lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere after dark
- We installed a large alfresco composite deck, providing an ideal space for entertaining and enjoying outdoor meals. This deck is designed to seamlessly integrate with the rest of the backyard, offering ample room for gatherings
- The composite decking extends to adjoin the rear of the pool, creating a smooth transition between the pool area and the rest of the backyard. This connection enhances the flow of the space and offers a stylish, functional solution for poolside lounging
- Bamboo was strategically planted around the perimeter of the backyard, adding a natural touch while providing privacy and screening. This lush greenery enhances the sense of seclusion and complements the modern design elements
- A levelled-out turf area was created, offering plenty of green space to complement the newly built hardscapes. This open, versatile area is perfect for hosting parties, playing games, or simply relaxing in a beautifully designed setting.
The result is a front and backyard that’s not only visually stunning but also highly functional, making it an ideal space for entertaining and enjoying for years to come. Our clients now have a complete outdoor oasis that perfectly blends modern design with natural elements, offering a welcoming and enjoyable environment for family and friends.
We’re delighted with the outcome of this renovation, and our clients are thrilled with their new outdoor spaces. At Modern Landscape Creations, we take pride in delivering exceptional results that enhance every aspect of our clients’ outdoor living experiences.
Modern Landscape Creations recently completed an award winning, full front and backyard renovation at a stunning modern home, bringing the outdoor space in line with the sleek architecture of the home. The goal was to deliver a streamlined, functional, and visually cohesive landscape that complements the home’s contemporary design and elevates everyday outdoor living. Here’s a look at the standout features of this modern landscape transformation: A dedicated firepit area was created, built with durable composite decking boards for a polished, low-maintenance finish. This space offers a cosy atmosphere for entertaining, complete with seating and a sleek, modern design that ties into the overall aesthetic of the home. An outdoor dining and casual seating area provides everything needed for effortless alfresco entertaining. With integrated appliances, bench space, and room for a large dining setup, this area encourages outdoor living year-round. Privacy screening was incorporated throughout the design, offering a stylish solution for seclusion without compromising airflow or light. These screens enhance the modern look of the landscape while delivering functionality. A motorised pergola was added to provide flexible coverage over the entertaining area. With the ability to adjust at the push of a button, the pergola offers shade during the day and opens to the stars at night—perfect for any weather. Fresh turf installation helped revive the garden space, giving the backyard a lush, vibrant finish. This soft green expanse balances the hardscape elements and creates a welcoming zone for kids and pets to enjoy. A striking dragon tree was planted as a feature piece, adding architectural flair to the garden. This sculptural plant pairs beautifully with the home’s modern lines and lighting. Feature lighting was used throughout to highlight key elements such as the decking, firepit, and plantings. These carefully placed lights not only boost safety and visibility but also transform the space after dark with a soft, ambient glow. The end result is a bold, functional outdoor space that mirrors the elegance of the home itself. From relaxing by the firepit to hosting family meals under the pergola, every corner has been carefully considered to maximise comfort, style, and usability. A stunning backyard makeover with standout features that included: A large decked entertaining area at the rear of the backyard, perfect for hosting gatherings or enjoying some quiet time outdoors A new pergola for the outdoor kitchen, providing shade and making the cooking space a true focal point for get-togethers Raised planter boxes clad with composite decking that serve as stylish privacy screens, while also allowing for lush garden beds Composite batten screening, adding an elegant backdrop to the pool area, giving it a more private, resort-style feel Feature lighting throughout the space to highlight the deck, planters, and pergola, making the backyard come alive at night Our clients wanted a space that was perfect for entertaining while also offering privacy and a serene atmosphere for their family to enjoy year-round. Modern Landscape Creations recently completed a stunning transformation of the front and backyard, where we collaborated with our clients to elevate their outdoor living areas by incorporating modern elements that complement the natural beauty of their home and pool. The goal was to enhance the existing features while creating a seamless flow between the spaces. Here’s a breakdown of some of the key features we incorporated to bring the vision to life: A large, curved edge composite deck was installed around the pool, providing ample space for lounging and entertaining. To complete the area, we added a pergola over the outdoor kitchen, making it the perfect spot for cooking up a feast while guests relax by the pool The existing palm trees were cleverly integrated into the new design, adding a natural element that enhances the tropical, resort-like feel of the space Limestone tiles were used in the alfresco area to give it a timeless, luxurious finish. We also created new, large stairs leading from the alfresco to the backyard, opening up the space and making it feel more inviting and connected To ensure the front yard matched the modern look of the backyard, we installed limestone tiles on the front entry porch, stairs, and courtyard, creating a cohesive aesthetic that flows from the front of the house to the back For convenience and sustainability, an automatic irrigation system was installed throughout both the front and rear yards, ensuring the lush greenery stays healthy and vibrant with minimal effort Lighting was thoughtfully placed throughout the project to highlight key features. Accent lights were added under all limestone stair treads and around the perimeter of the deck to illuminate the space at night, giving it a soft, ambient glow Our clients were looking for a backyard that was not only functional for entertaining but also visually stunning from every angle. With the combination of modern materials, integrated landscaping, and thoughtful lighting, we were able to create a space they can enjoy day and night, front to back. We’re thrilled with how this project turned out, and our clients couldn’t be happier with their transformed outdoor spaces. At Modern Landscape Creations, we always aim to deliver results that exceed expectations, and this project is a great example of how a well-designed landscape can bring a home to life.
